One of the best places to watch new and exciting films and to talk to filmmakers about their projects are Film Festivals and if you are looking for a film festival, Colorado is the place to be. Currently Colorado offers more than sixty Film Festivals, screening programs and special one-time film presentations every year.
Colorado's Film Festivals offer a variety of film experiences ranging from world-class feature premiers to award winning short films, from special interest projects to competition screenings, from best-loved favorites to undiscovered treasures. Film screenings take place around the state in parks, on riverbanks, in opera houses and state-of-the-art theaters. Colorado's world-class film festival events include the Telluride Film Festival, Vail Film Festival, Aspen Filmfest, Boulder International Film Festival and Starz Denver Film Festival.
The Colorado Film Festival season starts in Boulder in February and runs almost every weekend and wraps up with the largest film festival in Colorado, The Starz Denver Film Festival, in November.
Additional information on Colorado's many Film Festivals follows below with ongoing Film Festivals listed first then in order by month.

The Castle Rock Film Festival strives to support producers and promote film production in the Rocky Mountain region. With this is mind, we are giving our regional Student, Short and Feature Film talent a better opportunity to get their work seen by only accepting submissions from CO, UT, NM, WY and MT. In addition, we are also accepting Trailers - providing the option for filmmakers to promote their feature film, but who aren't quite prepared to submit the actual film at this time; and Actor Reels - for those who want to promote their acting talent. Trailers and Reels will not be judged, but will be shared through-out the festival's Friday "Trailer Park" Meet-n-Greet event. Daytime activities include screenings, script readings and a "Tenacity in Independent Film Making" seminar by local filmmaking experts (including the CO Film Commission). Evening festivities will include performances by local musical and comedic talent..
