The Colorado Film Commission is a founding member of the Association of Film Commissioners International, a non-profit educational organization founded in 1975 to serve the growing needs of on-location film and television production.

The Colorado Tourism Office was created to promote Colorado as a tourism and travel destination. The Colorado Tourism Office oversees eight Colorado Welcome Centers with helpful travel information conveniently located at the major highway gateways to the state; advertising and public relations to promote travel and tourism; sponsorship of research on trends in the Colorado travel and tourism industry and the economic impact of the industry in the state; plus customer response services and promotional materials, including maintenance of the official state travel website,the 1-800-COLORADO telephone information center and publication and distribution of Colorado's Official State Vacation Guide.

Colorado Film Commissioner - Kevin Shand

Meet Kevin Shand, Colorado Film Commissioner who was elevated to the position of Executive Director of the Colorado Film Commission on May 1, 2006. Kevin Shand joined the staff of the Colorado Film Commission in December of 2005 serving as the Director of Locations Colorado. During his time with the Colorado Film Commission, Kevin has been actively involved with the creation and subsequent passage of Colorado’s first Film Inventive Legislative Bill that was recently signed by Governor Owens.

Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade

The Office of Economic Development & International Trade works with companies starting, expanding, or relocating in Colorado. OEDIT offers a wide range of services to assist new and existing business of every size. The Colorado Film Commission was relaunched in June 2005 as a private, non-profit organization with a limited amount of seed money from the Governor's Office of Economic Development and International Trade Office.
