The Colorado Film Commission held its first Hall of Fame Awards on November 2nd at the Pinnacle Club by the Grand Hyatt. Colorado's film and political communities came together to honor world-renowned photographer, John Fielder (Story includes several photos).

Gov. Bill Ritter, Lt. Gov. Barbara O'Brien, Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper today visited the set of Nowhereland, the Eddie Murphy comedy being filmed around Denver this month. Today's shoot was filmed at the Brown Palace Hotel (Story includes two photos).

The Colorado Film Commission is pleased to announce the addition of Alexis Gentry to the staff.
Alexis Gentry, a native of Boulder, graduated from The George Washington University in Washington DC in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies. She came to the Colorado Film Commission in November 2006 as a volunteer, taking over many web-related tasks.

Colorado State Film Commissioner Kevin Shand recently announced the addition of Marcia Morgan to the staff of the Colorado Film Commission. In her new position as Director of Fund Development, Morgan is responsible for developing the Colorado Film Commission's newly created membership program in addition to expanding corporate and grant support for the non-profit organization.

The Board of Directors of the Colorado Film Commission recently named Kevin Shand as the new Executive Director of the Colorado Film Commission. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2005, Kevin Shand was the Stanislaus County, California Film Commissioner. Kevin Shand began working with the Colorado Film Commission last December and was named Interim Executive Director in May, 2006.

Join us for the signing of Colorado's Film Incentive Bill on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 1:30pm in the plaza of the World Trade Center at 1625 Broadway (16th and Broadway) in downtown Denver. Governor Owens will be on hand to sign the Film Incentive Bill into law along with four other bills representing over $39 million in economic development spending.
