Colorado's film and political communities came together to honor world-renowned photographer, John Fielder.

At the VIP reception, members of the State Legislature as well as the Colorado Film Commission Board of Directors, business leaders, and movie star Anna Sophia Robb enjoyed a custom video scrapbook of Fielder's work. Lt. Governor Barbara O'brien spoke on the creativity of the Film Commission in its' current non-profit status of "doing much with little resources". Representing the Film Commission were Kevin Shand, Executive Director, and Marcia Morgan, Director of Development.

Host Mike Nelson described the impact that Fielder's work has had on Colorado, emphasizing Fielder's interest in protecting the environment and showcasing the natural beauty of the state through his photography. Fielder's goals closely match those of the Colorado Film Commission to promote Colorado locations as well as economic development, while preserving the state's natural resources.

The Tiffany & Co. bowl presented to John Fielder at the Colorado Film Commission Hall of Fame AwardsBoth Governor Bill Ritter and Craig Meis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Film Commission, spoke from the heart about the significance of Fielder's work as well as the importance of all film production to the state's economy. The Film Commission honored Fielder with an engraved crystal Tiffany & Co. bowl etched with one of Fielder's mountain photos and inscribed with the Inaugural Hall of Fame details. Fielder graciously accepted his award presented by the Governor following an on-location interview of Fielder in his new mountain home and surrounding territory.

After the ceremony, guests took the opportunity to mingle and enjoy delicious food in the Pinnacle Club as they admired prints from Fielder's private collection on display in the Gallery. Film Commission Communications Coordinator Alexis Gentry and Rick Wicker of John Fielder's Colorado hosted the Publications Library and Gallery. There were 11 silent auction items including a private photography lesson and dinner with Fielder, fetching the highest bid. Fielder was engaged by fans and signed books until the late hours as guests savored food, presentation and gallery.
