Colorado Actors & Screenwriters Assembly

The mission of the Colorado Actors & Screenwriters Assembly is to facilitate the development and growth of independent film and theatre production in Colorado by creating a community with a neutral, non-monetary, non-competitive focal point.

Colorado Actors & Screenwriters Assembly is a benevolent community of over 1,100 actors, writers, filmmakers and industry personnel who represent all levels and facets of film and theatre production. Its goal is to establish a community spirit that embraces the arts, as well as its supporting structures, through community outreach programs, such as the CASA General Assemblies, free workshops and lectures and an Internet presence to facilitate community awareness and communication.

Colorado Actors & Screenwriters Assembly members are encouraged to volunteer some of their time and services to assist their fellow artists and thus their community. The entire film and theatre community is encouraged to use CASA to seek assistance and support from its membership and to offer support in return.

Formed in 1949 as a non-profit trade organization, the Colorado Broadcasters Association has a long history of service to broadcasters and citizens of the state. Over the years the Colorado Broadcasters Association has provided thousands of dollars for college scholarships, worked to provide public media access to the courts and fought to open public records. Among its many activities the Colorado Broadcasters Association is probably best known for its annual Awards Of Excellence which honor broadcasters' service to their local communities.

Representing broadcasters, both public and private, the association interacts with state and national officials and trade groups to further the interests and business of broadcasting.

Colorado Business Committee for the Arts is a member organization of leading companies that have a philanthropic commitment to the arts and recognize the link between our cultural vitality and business prosperity. 150 Colorado businesses with over 73,000 employees are members of CBCA.

Founded in 1984 by local business leaders, CBCA is one of 11 affiliates of the national Business Committee for the Arts founded by David Rockefeller in 1967. CBCA's mission is to connect the business and arts communities as a vehicle for workforce creativity, economic development, and business prosperity. They provide programs, training, research, and advocacy that build dynamic and mutually beneficial links between business and the arts.

The mission of the Colorado Council on the Arts, a state agency, is to promote the cultural, educational and economic growth of Colorado through development of its arts and cultural heritage. Using state funds combined with federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Council invests in communities across Colorado, ensuring that the benefits of the arts are enjoyed by thousands of our youth and millions of our citizens and visitors every day.

CCA focuses their energies in making the arts more accessible to all Coloradoans, by expanding access to quality arts education for young people, helping to assist and encourage artists and art organizations and to strengthen the financial stability of the arts industry. Other goals include preservation and promotion of Colorado's cultural heritage, recognition of diversity and inclusiveness and encouragement of artistic excellence and freedom of artistic expression.

Colorado Theatre Guild

The Colorado Theatre Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the theatre arts in the state of Colorado.

Started in 1976 as the Colorado Theatre Producers Guild by Henry Lowenstein, Ed Baierlein, Al Brooks and Maxine Munt the Guild was initially created to bring producers of live theatre in Colorado together to communicate and share information. For many years the Guild was an informal but strong community support group with theatre producers meeting once a month to talk about current issues. In 1999, the Guild changed hands and its name, expanding the scope of its activities and offerings and reaching out to include anyone with an interest in theatre into its membership. The Colorado Theatre Guild's membership now exceeds 200.

In recent years, the Colorado Theatre Guild has hosted numerous informational forums, as well as combined auditions with the Denver Center Theatre Company. In January 2005, it launched the hugely successful Theatre Night Out program featuring a series of discounted theatre productions on the third Friday of each month.

Denver Film Society is the only nonprofit cultural institution in Colorado dedicated to the celebration and cultivation of film as art. Founded in 1978, Denver Film Society is one of the premier membership-based cultural arts institutions in the Rocky Mountain region.

The organization offers year-round cinematic programming and special events to its supporting membership and to the general public, reaching more than 200,000 film-lovers annually.

Denver Film Society opened its home theatre and cinematic education center, Starz FilmCenter at the Tivoli in April 2002. The programming and education partnership with University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center's College of Arts & Media is generously supported by Starz Entertainment Group and the Denver-area Scientific & Cultural Facilities District. Starz FilmCenter is open daily with six or more screens of independent and international premieres, extended-run art-house cinema screenings, and retrospective series and revivals.

Denver Film Society's season includes the Party with Oscar charity fundraiser in February, the Starz First Look Student Film Festival in April, the Starz Pan African Film Festival in April, the Aurora Asian Film Festival in June, Film on the Rocks an outdoor concert/film series at Red Rocks Amphitheatre throughout the summer, and the award-winning flagship event, the Starz Denver International Film Festival.

The Emmy® statue is a symbol of excellence in the television industry that has been awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences since 1949. The Academy is the only national non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievement and improving the quality of television at all levels. In 1986 the Heartland Chapter became the 17th chapter in the country serving the broadcast industry in Denver,CO; Colorado Springs/Pueblo, CO; Grand Junction/Montrose, CO; Cheyenne/Scottsbluff, WY; Omaha,NE; North Platte, NE; Lincoln/Hastings-Kearney, NE; Wichita/Hutchinson, KS; Topeka,KS; Oklahoma City,OK; and Tulsa, OK;

Scientific and Cultural Facilities District

Scientific and Cultural Facilities District was established in 1988 and is authorized until July 1, 2018. It is a seven-county special district that collects a 1/10 of 1% sales tax in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson Counties to fund cultural facilities.

SCFD receives over $38,000,000 and distributes it to over 300 cultural facilities including the the Denver Zoo, Museum of Nature and Science, Art Museum, Botanic Gardens, and Center for the Performing Arts. In 2003, metro Denver cultural facilities generated $1.3 billion in economic activity of which $497 million was true economic impact. Cultural facilities within Denver metro handled over 24,000,000 attendees and employed 9,450 people.

Denise Berg, CEO of Animation Den is also is the Conference Manager for the Rocky Mountain VidExpo.
